In North America and internationally, the plastics recycling industry is a rapidly growing and evolving area of activity. There are likely to be massive potential opportunities for new market entrants to meet the growing demands for plastics recycling and bring new skills and specialist techniques to the industry. Existing industry participants will need to ensure that they are well equipped to retain and grow their market share and exploit the emerging new opportunities for business. At the same time, as recycling legislation and the use of product stewardship become more widespread, many industry participants will face a new requirement to monitor and report on their activities to external bodies, adding to often overstretched management workloads.
